Etihad Airways Commences Services into Shanghai with Boeing 787-9

Etihad Airways has commenced operations into Shanghai with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Shanghai is the seventh city to which Etihad Airways now operates the B787-9, along with Perth, Brisbane, Singapore, Washington DC, Zurich and Düsseldorf. According to the Global Business Travel Association, China recently surpassed the USA as the biggest business travel market in the world, a US$291.2 billion spending on business travel in 2015.

Qatar Commences Flights from Pisa, Italy to Doha, Qatar

Qatar Airways has commenced flights to the Italian city of Pisa, from the carrier’s hub in Doha, Qatar. The airline has strengthened its existing Italian routes from 2015, generating a 35 per cent increase in passenger capacity, by introducing new, wide-body aircraft to the Italian market.

SR Technics Completes SAS Airbus Widebody Cabin Upgrade

The cabin modification project of 12 wide-body aircraft belonging to Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), has been completed by leading MRO service provider, SR Technics. The two companies partnered together in late 2014 to enhance the cabin experience of SAS’s Airbus A330-300 and A340-300 aircraft, and the two companies have just completed this joint project on time.

Allegiant Selects CFM56-5B Engines for New A320ceo Order

Las Vegas-based Allegiant has placed a U.S.$270 million order (at list prices) with CFM International for its 12 new Airbus A320ceo (current engine option) aircraft, to be powered by CFM International engines. The order includes spare engines and the new aircraft are expected to enter service between 2017 and 2018.
