RUAG’s Dornier 228 Enters North American Market

RUAG Aviation will introduce new production models of the Dornier 228 aircraft in the North American aviation market, with an aim to target market areas for such an aircraft in special missions, as well as advanced passenger and cargo operations. The Swiss-based OEM are recently obtained FAA approvals for the upgraded Dornier 228-212 and continues with series production of the Do-228.

Virgin Atlantic Airways to Acquire Airbus A350-1000s

The A350-1000, the largest member of the A350 Family, has been selected by Virgin Atlantic Airways as the newest aircraft type to join its fleet. The UK based carrier is purchasing eight A350-1000s for which deliveries commence in 2019. The airline has also entered into long term lease agreements with Air Lease Corporation for four new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, which will be delivered in spring 2020 and 2021 respectively. There is also a lease "option" for a fifth aircraft.

Go Air Doubles A320neo Order to 144

Indian low-cost airline Go Air has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for 72 A320neo aircraft at the Farnborough International Airshow. Go Air, followed a similar agreement for its 72 A320neo order placed in 2011. The carrier has now ordered a total of 144 A320neos and took delivery of its first two NEOs in June, making it amongst the three first A320neo operators worldwide.

Airbus Bags 100 A321neo Order from AirAsia

AirAsia has signed a firm order for the purchase of 100 A321neo jetliners with Airbus. The contract was announced at the ongoing Farnborough Airshow, by AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer Tony Fernandes and Airbus President and CEO Fabrice Brégier. The AirAsia order for 100 A321s is an important order for the A321, which can seat up to 240 passengers in a single class layout, making it the largest model in the best-selling A320 Family.

Xiamen Airlines Signs Up for Additional Boeing 737 MAX 200s

Chinese carrier Xiamen Airlines and Boeing have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding for the purchase of up to 30 737 MAX 200 airplanes, at the ongoing Farnborough Air Show. The orders are valued at up to U.S.$ 3.39 billion at current list prices.  The carrier is looking to increase its operational fleet to 200 airplanes by the end of the decade.
